  I know Christmas is "wrong", but for god's sakes, what's so "wrong" about New Near's day?

  this time of the year is the most stressful for jw's(especially progressive jws) as they have to explain to non-jws why they don't celebrate christmas and new year's days.. i can understand the religious implications of christmas day, but what about new years?

  what is so wrong about looking forward to new beginings?

  was new year celebration also started by "christendom/ babylon the great"?

  What is so wrong with Christmas/ New Year? I don't have a problem with either. I am at a place in my life that I do what I want, not what some old men who run a publishing company in New York tell me to do; I hope you can get to that place also.

  I have always watched NFL and occasionally the Penguins in the NHL, never tried to hide it. One elder made a comment about putting up a shrine for my favorite team. I just looked at him like he was an ass. Come to think of it, he was an ass.

  I have watched IFC for years. Some movies I don't care for, but liked many. Many indie movies can bring out things the major movie companies are afraid to address or afraid they can't make any money on.

  Were You Joyful When A Meeting Had To Be Canceled?

  i was never thrilled to have a meeting during inclement weather.

  if it was seriously snowing and the weatherman suggested to stay in because of the conditions, i rarely went to the meeting.

  why take a chance, right?

  In our cong when a meeting was canceled they rescheduled it. If the Thur meeting was canceled, they had it on Sat. I didn't go to that one either.
